从法豆到博铎
1999年,我通过33.6K的调制解调器上传了本站的第一个版本:“法学豆子”,并在Yeah.net申请了当时被称为“永久域名”的免费子域名。此后几年,“法学豆子”渐渐成长,也逐渐为人所知。成为中国最早的法律个人站点之一。 2005年,我准备为网站申请一个真正独立的域名。那时候Blog博客方兴未艾,凡是能与博客挂钩的词汇都能获得天然的关注。在这种环境下,我选择了“BLawgDog”作为网站的域名。这个域名的含义对英文读者来说尚算一目了然,对中国大陆读者来说则稍有些难记。因此,我并没有完全放弃原来的“法学豆子”,而是将它稍微简化为“法豆”。这样一来,尽管中英文网站名称之间并没有直接的对应关系,把他们放在一起倒也不算过于突兀。注册域名后的短短三四年间,这个网站因为独立域名而免于各种博客平台的自我审查,成为中国不多的持续写作的法律博客。由于我个人兴趣的发展,这个网站逐渐将焦点放在了知识产权和网络法这个领域,也帮助我结交了许多业界的朋友。 但是,“法豆”作为一个网站的名称仍然不是太合适。这不仅仅因为它与“BLawgDog”之间并不对应,而且作为作为一个专业网站,这名字总让人觉得有些孩子气。在BlawgDog网站运营的头几年里,我一直想找一个合适的名词来代替它。但已经存在的名词要么无法囊括网站的内容,要么过于普通缺乏显著性。别的事一忙,这事就暂时搁了下来。 2010年以后,我在某国际律师行工作。为了防止可能的利益冲突,我大幅度降低了博客文章的写作频率。一直到2015年初,由于某种机缘,我发现虽然不能再发表个人对具体案件的观点,却仍是一个积累资讯、记录灵感的地方。于是便将尘封的网站予以升级。这个时候,网站中文名的问题再次跳了出来。 这一次,我不想再将就使用“法豆”,而是希望能让网站就中英文名一致。经过仔细考虑,我于2015年3月选定了“博铎”这个词汇。这个词与“BLawgDog”谐音,是我自造的词汇:“博”有博学、博览、之意,当然也是“博客”的“博”;“铎”是一种古乐器,大铃,形如铙、钲而有舌,据说是古代宣布政教法令用的。两个字放在一起,顾名思义,就是博览法律法理,并将它们用悦耳的方式呈现出来的意思。 以上就是从法豆到博铎的过程。

搞了半天你还在啊
若干年前,豆哥带领一票人到国境线上的一个小县做田野调查。接待我们的乡干部有一句口头禅:“搞了半天”。无论搞了什么,搞了多久,都是“搞了半天”。
“搞了半天你也抽红河啊。”(其实哥见到他的第一秒递过去的就是一根红河牌香烟)
“按照上面的布置推广烟叶田,搞了半天这片地根本不能种烟叶。”(其实是搞了两年)
“搞了半天那女的根本不想回娘家。”(其实他谁也没搞,只是在说一个被拐卖的女人更喜欢待在千里之外买她的夫家)
总之,搞了半天先生陪我们在那个叫“罗村”(别搜了,是化名)的地方搞了半天,呃,是半个月的田野。然后,在我们的论文里连半句话都没有提到他。他得到的也许只是在同僚们面前的一点谈资:“搞了半天那个白不溜湫的大学生整起酒来还很实在。”
生活有时候就是这样,你上山下海搞了半天,却想不到人家记得的是一件你完全忽略的小事。或者是几千个半天过去后,你被太阳晒醒,抠着腿上的毛囊翻看沉睡在硬盘深处的文件夹,才发现搞了半天原来你和这个人有过秉烛夜谈的缘份,甚至还因为他有过当另一名乡干部的冲动。
所以,豆哥招呼都不打地消失了四个月之后,搞了半天你还在这里,真挺让人感动的——大屏手机不言谢,咱们就保持这种有一搭没一出的关系吧,豆哥会继续时不时发点解闷的东西,希望你能笑得fadou,气得也fadou。
若干年后,说不定能在某个匪夷所思的地方遇见你,到时候大家就用“搞了半天是你啊”作开场白吧。
